Responsibilities
- Conceive, define, and further develop Pliant’s mobile applications.
- Build and ship high-quality React Native features for iOS and Android from concept through production.
- Translate product requirements and designs into clean, maintainable UI and robust business logic.
- Own mobile application performance and reliability.
- Implement and maintain native modules and bridges using Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java when platform-specific capabilities are needed.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural decisions, and documentation.
- Collaborate with frontend and backend engineers, product managers, designers, and other product teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional mobile development experience, including hands-on production experience with React Native.
- Expertise in building testable, maintainable, and extensible software architecture.
- Knowledge of mobile architecture patterns and antipatterns.
- Strong understanding of mobile performance fundamentals, including rendering, memory, startup time, and production debugging.
- Working knowledge of native iOS and Android development with Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, and/or Java.
- Familiarity with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices and mobile delivery pipelines.
- Clear communication and effective collaboration with Product, Design, and Backend teams.
- Preferred experience with secure authentication, token lifecycle management, Keychain/Keystore secure storage, and threat-aware mobile practices.
- Preferred experience with Flipper, Xcode Instruments, Android Studio Profiler, Detox, or Appium.
- Preferred native experience building custom modules and working with platform APIs.
- Exposure to payments or fintech features such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, tokenization flows, 3DS, and strong customer authentication is a bonus.
