Responsibilities
- Own the long-term technical roadmap for clinical ML systems.
- Drive strategic build vs. buy decisions for AI solutions.
- Define standards for safe rollout in healthcare contexts.
- Lead design and implementation of LLM-powered clinical agents.
- Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks using clinical datasets.
- Build production infrastructure for ML systems.
- Define performance objectives to enhance healthcare professional satisfaction.
- Mentor Staff or Senior ML Engineers and Applied Scientists.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with various teams.
- Translate clinical needs into research questions and production systems.
- Partner with medical, legal, and compliance teams to meet regulatory expectations.
Requirements
- 10+ years in ML/AI with 3+ years at Staff+ or Principal level.
- PhD in Computer Science, AI, Statistics, or related field.
- Deep expertise in at least two areas: clinical NLP, LLM fine-tuning, automatic speech recognition, RAG systems, or reinforcement learning.
- Expert in Python, PyTorch/Transformers, and deploying ML systems in production.
- Exceptional communication skills to align diverse stakeholders.
