Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for database and backend testing.
- Create and execute test cases for stored procedures, triggers, and database functions.
- Implement mocking techniques to simulate database interactions and isolate testing components.
- Develop and maintain unit and integration tests using Mockito, JMock, or WireMock.
- Integrate database tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Validate SQL queries and data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across environments.
- Perform API testing to validate database interactions using Postman or RestAssured.
- Identify and report performance bottlenecks in database queries and stored procedures.
- Implement data-driven and schema validation tests for database changes.
- Research and apply practices for database testing, data virtualization, and test data management.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in database and backend testing.
- Strong knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle, including stored procedure testing.
- Proficiency with database mocking techniques using Mockito, JMock, WireMock, or similar frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with JUnit, NUnit, or TestNG.
- Expertise writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers for test validation.
- Experience with CI/CD automation using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with API testing and backend validation using Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.
- Strong problem-solving and database debugging abilities.
- Experience managing test data and creating reusable test datasets.
- Preferred experience with database performance testing using JMeter or Gatling.
- Preferred knowledge of MongoDB and Redis testing approaches.
- Preferred exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
- Preferred familiarity with security testing for database vulnerabilities.
- Preferred understanding of AWS RDS, Azure SQL, and Google Cloud SQL.
