Responsibilities
- Grow API compatibility with the Supabase client and maintain conformance tests
- Bring more of the Supabase stack to SQLite
- Build and harden upgrades from Supabase Lite to full Supabase
- Own the CLI, local tooling, documentation, and overall developer experience
- Build and harden a scale-to-zero hosted offering with loosely coupled implementation components
- Work with design partners to turn migration and integration friction into product improvements
- Engage with the open-source community and contribute to the broader Supabase stack
Requirements
- Substantial backend or full-stack experience with strong TypeScript fluency
- Experience building or contributing to a backend system, framework, or developer platform
- Ability to work as a generalist across API design, storage internals, and infrastructure
- Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals, including understanding differences between Postgres and SQLite
- Ability to read unfamiliar code and match reference implementations in other languages
- Commitment to compatibility, correctness, tests, and specifications
- Interest in developer experience, clean APIs, fast feedback loops, and effective tooling
- Comfort owning ambiguous early-stage work and defining specifications
- Comfort working in public repositories on a remote, asynchronous team
- Clear written communication
- Experience with the Supabase stack, developer CLIs, or open-source maintenance is a bonus
