Responsibilities

  • Translate business capabilities and requirements into target and solution architecture blueprints.
  • Design scalable, resilient, high-availability, cloud-native systems using microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven patterns.
  • Analyze system landscapes, legacy architectures, and technical constraints, including decomposition of monolithic systems into modular services.
  • Create HLDs, LLDs, sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, integration mappings, and other architecture documentation.
  • Drive architecture governance, design reviews, enterprise standards adherence, and non-functional requirements across scalability, performance, security, availability, and observability.
  • Lead architecture discussions, solutioning workshops, technical roadmaps, stakeholder engagement, and distributed implementation teams.
  • Mentor teams, enforce engineering best practices, and drive CI/CD, DevOps, and automation practices.
  • Support pre-sales and solutioning through effort estimation, architecture proposals, and RFP responses.
  • Evaluate technology stacks, platform capabilities, build-versus-buy decisions, and banking and payments integration approaches.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, API design and integration, event-driven systems, containers, orchestration, service meshes, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Experience with REST, GraphQL, gRPC, Kafka, messaging systems, Docker, Kubernetes, Istio or Linkerd, API gateways, Terraform, CloudFormation, and observability tooling.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, high-volume and low-latency design, security architecture, OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, Zero Trust, and resilience patterns.
  • Experience driving CI/CD and DevOps automation and working across cross-functional or distributed teams.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture and explain complex architecture concepts to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with architecture governance, design reviews, technical roadmaps, stakeholder management, documentation, and presentation.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 20022, payment flows, SEPA, SCT Inst, UK Faster Payments, SWIFT, payment hubs, and core banking platforms such as Finacle, Temenos, or Flexcube is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of banking functions and regulatory considerations including accounts, deposits, loans, CASA lifecycle, PSD2, AML, and KYC is a plus.
  • Experience with TOGAF, data architecture, real-time analytics, consulting, or Big4 firms is desirable.
