Responsibilities
- Design and deliver highly performant, reliable, intuitive, scalable AI agents in production
- Own the Agent Development Life Cycle from initial pilot through deployment and continuous iteration
- Build, tune, and evolve AI agents in production environments
- Partner directly with enterprise and startup customers to understand business challenges and build AI solutions
- Prototype tools and features and collaborate with research, product, and platform teams to evolve Sierra’s core platform
- Build scalable commerce systems covering order management, fulfillment, returns, warranties, product discovery, checkout, recommendations, search, payments, and order placement
- Support global retail agents operating at high traffic volumes across geographic locales
Requirements
- Experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems
- Strong technical problem-solving skills in fast-changing and ambiguous environments
- Builder and tinkerer mindset with high agency and ability to overcome obstacles and ship
- Comfort working directly with customers to understand needs and solve real-world problems
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Excitement about retail and helping leading brands build customer loyalty
- Preferred experience building or deploying AI or LLM systems in production
- Preferred experience as a founder or founding engineer
- Preferred familiarity with evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering
- React, TypeScript, and/or Go experience is preferred
- Preferred experience interfacing with customers or leading technical projects with external stakeholders
