Base Salary
$180k - $192k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define multi-quarter technical roadmaps for Post-Booking backend and frontend domains with engineering leadership and architects.
- Lead complex, cross-team technical initiatives.
- Translate ambiguous, high-stakes business goals into technical strategies, designs, and experiments.
- Build customer-experience features through high-performance Node.js services and AI-driven enhancements.
- Drive replatforming work to modernize microservice infrastructure, including scalable architectures, APIs, and data models.
- Serve as a JavaScript subject-matter expert, mentor engineers, champion testing and AI practices, and create technical documentation.
- Lead adoption of Spec-Driven Development using advanced AI tools to produce robust Node.js implementations and comprehensive test suites.
Requirements
- At least four years of professional software engineering experience with both frontend and backend experience.
- Extensive professional experience with Node.js and microservice architecture.
- Strong SQL and data modeling experience for financial use cases, including Postgres and Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience with asynchronous and event-driven systems using Kafka.
- Experience designing and owning observability and alerting for critical systems.
- Mastery of building, debugging, and scaling distributed systems.
- Strong communication, influence without authority, and ownership skills for systems handling money and trust.
- Spec-Driven Development experience is a bonus.
- Hands-on AI tools experience is a bonus.
- Experience rebuilding legacy software systems is a bonus.
- Familiarity with microservice and event-driven architectures at scale is a bonus.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
