Base Salary
$203k - $259k/yr
Responsibilities
- Conduct applied research and evaluate AI techniques including automatic model routing and batch capacity management.
- Evaluate fine-tuning results for open-source LLMs against defined metrics and comparable industry models.
- Build, integrate, maintain, and productize AI agents and automation features in the Circuit platform.
- Apply agentic AI to modernize existing platform features and evaluate new models from vendors.
- Optimize AI workload costs, token usage, model performance, and production scalability.
- Lead feature delivery from concept through production integration and performance measurement.
- Serve as a Team Captain, drive cross-functional consensus, and mentor peers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years, master’s degree with 4+ years, or PhD with 1+ year of related experience in computer science, AI/ML, or a related technical field.
- Applied research experience solving complex technical problems and evaluating and integrating AI/ML technologies.
- Practical knowledge of LLMs, model fine-tuning, and production AI/ML applications.
- Software development experience building, testing, and deploying scalable production features.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
- Ability to assess generated code for stability, production readiness, and security compliance.
- Ability to evaluate and document trade-offs involving cost, quality, and performance.
- Preferred experience in AI Ops, MLOps, custom LLM fine-tuning, real-time AI workload management, token optimization, and agentic applications.
- Preferred experience leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
