Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Build an Android-based point-of-sale and operations platform used in tens of thousands of restaurants worldwide.
- Own features end to end, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Implement and maintain MVVM architecture and comprehensive unit and integration tests.
- Solve problems involving distributed databases, real-time syncing, message queues, distributed transactions, and peer-to-peer architecture.
- Support hardware devices and build abstractions for printers, payment terminals, and other peripherals.
- Tune performance and scale the platform for all-day operation and worldwide expansion.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, quality assurance, and brand teams across KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell.
- Use AI development tooling while verifying its output and maintaining ownership of quality, security, and correctness.
Requirements
- BA/BS or higher in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building robust mobile software.
- Strong Android fundamentals, including the Android SDK, application lifecycle, and platform behaviors.
- Working knowledge of Kotlin and modern Android development, including Jetpack Compose.
- Demonstrated ability to build robust, maintainable software with sound architecture and testing strategies.
- Experience owning aspects of implementation, testing, or deployment.
- Regular use of AI development tooling with judgment to verify its output.
- Preferred qualifications include distributed systems and peer-to-peer architecture experience, restaurant technology or retail POS experience, published native Android apps, Kotlin Flow and Coroutines, RxJava, payment systems, hardware peripherals, SQL and NoSQL databases, startup experience, and software-development community involvement.
