Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize core data platform components using Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS S3 data lakes.
- Manage and scale Kafka or Kinesis streaming infrastructure for real-time game telemetry and low-latency analytics.
- Develop Data-as-a-Service features that enable business units and studios to onboard data and manage access with minimal friction.
- Optimize Spark and PySpark applications for performance and cost efficiency across distributed clusters.
- Design and automate granular access-control and RBAC models for data security and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure interoperability between data platforms using standards and technologies such as Apache Iceberg.
- Act as the data platform subject matter expert and translate business needs into scalable technical requirements and platform features.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of professional experience in data platform or distributed systems engineering in high-volume environments.
- Expertise in SQL, Python, and big-data processing frameworks such as Spark.
- Deep proficiency with AWS services including S3, EKS, IAM, SNS, and SQS, plus extensive experience with Snowflake or Databricks.
- Experience building or extending workflow orchestration platforms such as Apache Airflow.
- Strong understanding of data modeling methodologies including Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault.
- Preferred experience with high-velocity telemetry from gaming or high-volume consumer technology ecosystems.
- Preferred experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and tools such as Monte Carlo, DataHub, or Soda for data observability and cataloging.
- Preferred experience with Docker and Kubernetes in data platform environments.
- Preferred experience building and scaling vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or Milvus for RAG.
- Preferred knowledge of Model Context Protocol and data preparation and governance for fine-tuning large language models.
