Base Salary
$130k - $233k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain foundational platform services and tools.
- Influence cross-functional architecture decisions, engineering standards, and best practices.
- Mentor engineers across experience levels through structured mentorship, code reviews, and technical consultations.
- Define and execute strategic technical initiatives and system design improvements.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to standardize patterns, tooling, and solutions.
- Lead system design reviews and identify systemic risks, performance bottlenecks, and developer-experience opportunities.
- Advise technology leadership on complex technical strategies and trade-offs.
- Direct cross-functional responses to production incidents and drive systemic reliability improvements.
- Evaluate and introduce AI-assisted engineering practices that improve productivity, code quality, documentation, and operational resilience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, particularly in backend, platform, or infrastructure roles.
- Expert proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Python, Java, or TypeScript.
- Experience designing, building, testing, and operating complex distributed cloud-native systems using Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform preferred.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools such as Datadog and Prometheus, and container orchestration systems including Kubernetes and Cloud Run.
- Ability to communicate complex technical strategies and trade-offs clearly.
- Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into professional engineering workflows with measurable improvements.
- Significant experience influencing technical roadmaps, engineering standards, and best practices is preferred.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and fostering technical leadership is preferred.
- Experience leading complex cross-team incident responses and adopting AI-enabled engineering workflows is preferred.
