Base Salary
$191k - $267k/yr
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the team and organization’s long-term technical strategy.
- Refine and maintain messaging infrastructure supporting asynchronous communication among services serving hundreds of millions of users.
- Own managed and self-hosted infrastructure supporting produce and consume requests, along with the tooling and automation needed to operate it efficiently.
- Develop scalable technical solutions for Reddit’s product growth while maintaining high availability and reliability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building internet-scale software, preferably focused on machine learning storage infrastructure.
- Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Golang, Python, C++, or Java.
- Experience working with Kafka and Kubernetes; Strimzi experience is a significant plus.
- Hands-on experience implementing features, optimizations, and bug fixes for distributed messaging systems.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with engineering, data science, machine learning, and product stakeholders.
- Degree in computer science or an equivalent technical field.
