Base Salary

$191k - $267k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the team and organization’s long-term technical strategy.
  • Refine and maintain messaging infrastructure supporting asynchronous communication among services serving hundreds of millions of users.
  • Own managed and self-hosted infrastructure supporting produce and consume requests, along with the tooling and automation needed to operate it efficiently.
  • Develop scalable technical solutions for Reddit’s product growth while maintaining high availability and reliability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building internet-scale software, preferably focused on machine learning storage infrastructure.
  • Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Golang, Python, C++, or Java.
  • Experience working with Kafka and Kubernetes; Strimzi experience is a significant plus.
  • Hands-on experience implementing features, optimizations, and bug fixes for distributed messaging systems.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with engineering, data science, machine learning, and product stakeholders.
  • Degree in computer science or an equivalent technical field.
