Responsibilities
- Build large-scale simulations and manage distributed computing infrastructure for digital ecosystems and experiments.
- Create modular infrastructure capable of running experiments with trillions of generated programs and complex interactions.
- Optimize compute usage and manage significant CPU resource requirements across shared infrastructure.
- Implement efficient scheduling, resolve job failures, and ensure massive-scale runs execute reliably.
- Provide engineering support for data analysis and launching new experiments.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions while managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of software development experience focused on distributed computing and parallelizable infrastructure.
- Experience scaling systems from single-CPU runs to distributed environments.
- Experience with infrastructure optimization and resource management.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience with evolutionary algorithms, machine learning research, artificial-life simulations, or infrastructure interfacing with programming benchmarks such as LeetCode and code golf.
- Preferred: ability to manage the complexity and geographical segregation of populations within digital ecosystems.
