Responsibilities
- Build payment infrastructure across multiple countries, currencies, and regulatory regimes.
- Design multi-currency accounting and reconciliation systems at scale.
- Integrate with international banking systems and payment rails including SEPA, BACS, and SWIFT.
- Launch new markets while scaling existing international systems.
- Collaborate with compliance, product, operations, external partners, and international banking partners.
- Own solutions end to end from architecture through production reliability and partner integrations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend or platform engineering experience in high-scale production environments.
- Strong systems design skills and the ability to build reliable, maintainable solutions from ambiguous requirements.
- Experience working in fast-moving, high-ambiguity environments with independent ownership.
- Comfort with distributed systems, performance optimization, and production reliability.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred: experience in fintech, payments, capital markets, international payment rails, foreign exchange, or multi-currency ledgers.
- Preferred: familiarity with multi-currency accounting, reconciliation, cross-border compliance, third-party financial APIs, international banking partners, or international regulatory environments.
