Responsibilities
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including agentic coding tools, across engineering teams.
- Champion secure, resilient, and well-architected application health standards.
- Lead technical lifecycle management, application modernization, deprecated component remediation, and vulnerability reduction.
- Establish expectations for human review, correctness, performance, security, and sensitive-data handling in AI-assisted workflows.
- Partner with architecture and security teams to embed secure-by-design practices and compliance expectations.
- Improve SDLC toolchain automation, release readiness, traceability, auditability, and reduction of manual toil.
- Mentor and coach engineers on application health, AI-enabled development, secure coding, and technical modernization.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Expertise building and maintaining secure, production-grade applications, including vulnerability management, dependency hygiene, and technical debt reduction.
- Hands-on experience with application modernization, deprecated component remediation, technical lifecycle management, and proactive risk identification.
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline automation, automated testing strategies, secure coding standards, and peer review processes.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to engineering and non-engineering stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Preferred experience with Claude, GitHub Copilot, application health frameworks, static analysis, software composition analysis, vulnerability and lifecycle platforms, engineering standards, architectural patterns, developer experience initiatives, cloud-native development, infrastructure-as-code, and coaching engineers.
