Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to define functional and technical designs.
- Design and implement relational data models and data solutions on Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
- Develop PL/SQL procedures and integrate Oracle solutions for efficient access from Java.
- Maintain and support system data and develop automated ETL processes for data loading and extraction.
- Diagnose and remediate system and performance issues, including database locking and deadlocks.
- Optimize database performance through partitioning, indexing, execution plans, monitoring, and physical design.
- Load large volumes of data efficiently and provide technical support and subject matter expertise.
- Develop technical and training documentation and support project delivery timelines.
- Lead or participate in project efforts and collaborate with software engineers and senior leadership.
Requirements
- 7+ years of applied experience as an Oracle database developer.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle physical table design, normalization, partitions, integrity constraints, indexing, performance tuning, execution plans, PL/SQL, stored procedures, monitoring tools, locking, and deadlock resolution.
- Demonstrated experience developing and automating ETL processes for data loading and extraction.
- Proficiency in scripting languages.
- Experience developing solutions for both Linux and Windows.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices and commitment to quality and test coverage.
- Basic understanding of Java and Python is preferred.
- Experience integrating solutions in cloud environments such as AWS is desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, adaptability, and accountability.
