Base Salary
$107k - $177k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own relational, key-value, vector, graph, object, and block data stores across cloud, on-premises, edge, client-managed, and air-gapped environments.
- Operate event-streaming, asynchronous messaging, change-data-capture, stream-processing, and durable workflow systems.
- Manage replication, backup and restore, point-in-time recovery, disaster recovery, and cross-environment data movement according to RPO/RTO requirements.
- Build reliable streaming and CDC pipelines with schema governance and evolution controls.
- Ensure multi-tenant data isolation, performance, portability, consistency, and recoverability.
- Provide data lineage and metadata foundations for governance, observability, and AI knowledge capabilities.
- Define data ownership boundaries and data/schema contracts with platform, trust, runtime, and delivery teams.
- Reduce operational toil through automation and infrastructure-as-code for data systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience operating production data infrastructure, streaming systems, or database platforms at scale.
- Hands-on production expertise with PostgreSQL, Redis/Valkey, high availability, replication, and backup/recovery.
- Production experience with vector or graph databases such as Qdrant, Milvus, PGVector, or Neo4j in AI/ML contexts.
- Deep experience with Apache Kafka/Strimzi, NATS, Debezium, Apache Flink, CloudEvents, and schema registries.
- Experience operating stateful systems on Kubernetes with operators, persistent volumes, and object/block storage.
- Understanding of embeddings, retrieval, feature/state stores, multi-tenant isolation, and agentic AI workloads.
- Experience with durable workflow engines, data lineage and metadata tooling, cross-environment replication, and disaster-recovery strategies is preferred.
- Experience operating data systems under compliance, security, or regulatory constraints and protecting data at rest and in transit is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to guide teams toward appropriate storage and streaming patterns.
