Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own relational, durable workflow, caching, vector, graph, object, and block-storage systems across environments and tenants.
- Own event streaming and asynchronous messaging using Kafka, NATS JetStream, Debezium, Flink, and event-contract technologies.
- Design and operate replication, backup and restore, point-in-time recovery, and cross-environment data movement according to RPO/RTO requirements.
- Build and operate streaming and change-data-capture pipelines with schema governance and evolution.
- Ensure multi-tenant isolation, portability, performance, and consistent data semantics across managed cloud and self-hosted environments.
- Provide data, lineage, governance, observability, and AI-knowledge infrastructure for downstream teams.
- Define data ownership boundaries and storage and streaming contracts with platform, trust, runtime, and delivery teams.
- Reduce operational toil through automation and infrastructure-as-code for data systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience operating production data infrastructure, streaming systems, or database platforms at scale.
- Hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL and Redis/Valkey, including high availability, replication, and backup/recovery.
- Production experience with vector or graph databases such as Qdrant, Milvus, PGVector, and Neo4j in AI/ML contexts.
- Deep experience with Apache Kafka/Strimzi, NATS, Debezium, Apache Flink, CloudEvents, and schema registries.
- Experience running stateful systems on Kubernetes with operators, persistent volumes, and object/block storage such as MinIO and OpenEBS.
- Experience with AI/ML data patterns including embeddings, retrieval, and feature/state stores for agentic workloads.
- Preferred experience with DBOS, Temporal, OpenLineage, Marquez, MirrorMaker, CloudNativePG PITR, cross-environment replication, disaster recovery, and regulated delivery environments.
- Understanding of compliance, security, data-at-rest and data-in-transit protection, multi-tenant isolation, and per-tenant performance management.
Benefits
- Base salary is $106,900–$176,500 across US geographic locations and $128,400–$200,600 in New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California excluding Sacramento.
