Base Salary
$208k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the team’s overall technology direction and lead large, multi-quarter initiatives across design, planning, sequencing, and launch.
- Design scalable, idempotent, observable money-movement workflows with correct ledgering, reconciliation, and compliance gating using Temporal.
- Drive architecture decisions across Go services, APIs, GraphQL contracts, data models, and React/TypeScript frontend systems.
- Lead design reviews, assess technologies and build-versus-buy decisions, and maintain alignment with long-term architecture plans.
- Establish team standards for effective and verified AI-assisted development using Claude Code, Codex, and similar agents.
- Improve security, reliability, observability, and long-term system maintainability.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and participate in technical interviews.
- Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, Compliance, Infrastructure, and Operations on roadmaps and technical trade-offs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of engineering experience building backend services in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
- Track record of leading large initiatives spanning multiple engineers or teams.
- Advanced Go expertise or deep experience in Java, Kotlin, or C# with readiness to make Go the primary language.
- Frontend fluency sufficient to guide decisions in a React/TypeScript codebase, including API contracts, rendering, and state trade-offs.
- Daily experience with AI coding agents and experience or readiness to establish team-level standards for their use.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, and performant cloud services, including AWS infrastructure.
- Experience leading design reviews and partnering with Product Management on roadmaps, parallel projects, estimation, and launches.
- Clear written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred experience with Temporal, Cadence, Step Functions, or similar workflow orchestration; payments, fintech, or money movement; and hands-on React/TypeScript.
