Base Salary
$208k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the team’s overall technology direction and lead large, multi-quarter initiatives from planning and design through launch.
- Design scalable, idempotent, observable money-movement workflows on Temporal, including ledgering, reconciliation, and compliance gating.
- Drive architecture decisions across Go services, APIs, GraphQL contracts, data models, and React/TypeScript frontend applications.
- Lead design reviews, evaluate build-versus-buy decisions, and assess new technologies for feasibility and long-term architectural fit.
- Establish team-level standards for AI-assisted, spec-driven development using tools such as Claude Code and Codex.
- Advance security, reliability, and observability standards and mitigate technical complexity before it causes incidents.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, expand team capabilities, and participate in technical interviews.
- Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, Compliance, Infrastructure, and Operations on roadmaps, trade-offs, and launches.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of engineering experience building backend services in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading large initiatives spanning multiple engineers or teams.
- Advanced Go expertise or deep experience with Java, Kotlin, or C# and readiness to make Go the primary language.
- Sufficient React/TypeScript fluency to guide frontend architecture, client API contracts, rendering, and state decisions.
- Daily fluency with AI coding agents and experience or clear readiness to establish standards for their effective, verified use.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, and performant cloud services, including experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure.
- Experience leading design reviews and partnering with Product Management to shape roadmaps and deliver major launches.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred experience includes Temporal, Cadence, Step Functions, payments, fintech, money movement, and hands-on React/TypeScript.
