Base Salary
$169k - $232k/yr
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for the Mobile BFF team and set engineering direction.
- Own the architecture of GraphQL Backend-for-Frontend services powering mobile applications.
- Develop and maintain scalable services while translating customer needs into reliable mobile experiences.
- Drive technical decisions, de-risk complex work, and collaborate with backend feature teams and the broader Mobile organization.
- Establish development standards for maintainability, reliability, and scalability.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
- Optimize application performance and resilience and resolve technical debt and systemic risks.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong system design skills.
- Deep backend development proficiency with Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or Java.
- Experience with large-scale systems, including platforms and infrastructure supporting thousands of hosts and millions of users.
- Experience building and maintaining modern CI/CD systems in a large-scale environment.
- Proven technical leadership as a tech lead, including influence beyond the immediate team.
- Ability to balance immediate business needs with long-term technical investments and communicate architectural trade-offs.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- GraphQL or other BFF/API-layer experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience working closely with mobile teams or hands-on iOS/Android development experience is a plus.
