Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance vector search algorithms for billion-scale datasets.
- Develop and optimize GPU-accelerated vector indexing and search capabilities.
- Build and enhance the OpenSearch k-NN plugin with new distance metrics, quantization techniques, and memory-efficient graph structures.
- Contribute to tiered hot, warm, and cold storage architecture for vector data.
- Implement MMAP-based and partial graph loading approaches to reduce working set size.
- Collaborate with applied scientists on vector search optimization algorithms.
- Participate in open-source contributions, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Programming experience in at least one software programming language.
