Responsibilities
- Develop moderately complex to highly complex front-end and back-end code for internal and external client software solutions.
- Design, architect, and deliver complex program specifications across multiple concurrent projects.
- Develop, modify, unit test, integration test, validate, review, and document complex code and distributed-system changes.
- Resolve complex code deficiencies independently and propose alternative technical solutions.
- Lead client-facing meetings, joint venture discussions, and vendor partnership teams on solution and architecture approaches.
- Support leadership in establishing and enforcing application and infrastructure standards, controls, procedures, and monitoring.
- Apply PCI security compliance, cloud security best practices, and data governance frameworks.
- Prepare billable-hour and resource estimates for initiatives, projects, and issues.
- Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level software engineers.
- Lead code reviews, establish coding standards, and drive engineering best practices across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business/Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of progressive work experience in the offered job or a related position.
- Experience coding, designing, developing, architecting, and analyzing data-intensive applications.
- Experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, Mainframe COBOL, or Mainframe Assembler, including Java JDK 17 through JDK 25 where applicable.
- Experience with at least two modern programming languages or frameworks, such as Python, React.js, Spring Boot, R, or Matlab.
- Experience developing Spring Boot microservices with RESTful service design, dependency injection, Spring Security, and Spring Data.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, Postman, relational and NoSQL databases, DDL and DML, and databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, IMS, or DB2.
- AWS Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS Lambda, EC2, S3, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation, IAM, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.
- Experience using Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration, DAG development, scheduling, and data pipeline automation.
- Mainframe experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and VSAM.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot, including prompt engineering, code generation, code completion, test generation, debugging, and documentation with Copilot Chat.
- Familiarity with large language models including GPT, Claude, Gemini, and LLaMA, and with integrating LLMs into software development productivity, code review automation, and intelligent application features.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, three years of post-secondary study in any field plus one additional year of experience, for a total of 9 years of work experience, is accepted.
