Responsibilities
- Provide lifecycle software engineering support for NAVWAR and NIWC customers and sustain fielded TACNET systems.
- Analyze and modify software and system components to replace end-of-support COTS components, support new interfaces, and implement customer-driven changes.
- Analyze failure data, trouble reports, and Navy fleet communications to identify deficiencies and conduct root-cause analysis.
- Develop, integrate, test, debug, and tune complex software solutions, primarily for Red Hat/Linux-based operating systems.
- Propose solutions, conduct peer reviews, and collaborate with production engineers, external partners, consultants, agencies, and vendors.
- Create engineering documentation and manage solutions through formal configuration management processes.
- Support system installations, upgrades, distance support, emergent CASREP activities, technical meetings, IPTs, working groups, and design reviews.
- Lead source-code development and deployment across multiple classification levels and environments.
- Create low-level work products, estimate task durations, and support scope-document and schedule development.
- Provide technical reports, briefs, and presentations and support agile, sprint-based operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 14 or more years of experience, master’s degree with 12 or more years, or PhD/JD with 9 or more years.
- Experience supporting DoD C4ISR systems in enterprise IT environments, including systems such as ISNS, CANES, ADNS, SCI Network, CENTRIX, ORT, or Flank Speed Wireless.
- At least 4 years of experience in a DevOps-based environment and familiarity with Agile practices.
- At least 2 years of experience with scripting languages, PowerShell automation, and XML development.
- At least 2 years of experience designing, analyzing, and supporting local area networks.
- Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Flank Speed Edge cloud computing environments.
- Experience with the Microsoft stack, including .NET and C#, and with Linux programming languages.
- Experience using Atlassian tools, including JIRA, in agile and sprint-based operations.
- Experience developing and applying pattern-based architecture, governance, and security to system changes and deployments.
- Experience with object-oriented programming for web-based programming languages and source-code deployment across classification levels.
- Current IAT Level II compliance, including Security+, and an operating-system certification, or the ability to obtain both within 6 months.
- U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance or higher are required at start.
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy ship and shore networking systems and experience with Scrum are preferred.

- Up to 10% CONUS/OCONUS travel is required.
