Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of digital manufacturing solutions supporting production, reliability, quality, energy, and sustainability use cases.
- Define end-to-end solution architectures spanning OT systems, plant data historians, manufacturing applications, and cloud platforms.
- Provide technical authority for OT/IT integration patterns, real-time data ingestion, edge architectures, and secure connectivity.
- Provide innovation thought leadership, technical governance, and oversight for ITS initiatives.
- Review RFPs, requirements, business needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies, translating them into business impact.
- Champion high-value innovation projects with organizational leaders and develop technical innovation roadmaps.
- Meet with vendors to identify strategic relationships and opportunities to improve IT value.
- Develop architectural views, reference models, future-state models, transformation analyses, and roadmaps.
- Assess technology and strategy impacts, identify technical or operational risks, and enforce architectural principles and industry best practices.
- Collaborate across the ITS organization and communicate technical and business impacts to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Requirements
- Typically 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial IT, or digital transformation roles.
- At least 5 years of solution or enterprise architecture experience supporting manufacturing environments.
- At least 10 years of experience in a technical design or architect-level position.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of industrial architectures, including ISA-95 and the Purdue Model, OT networking and cybersecurity concepts, time-series data, streaming, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Azure, directory services, collaboration tools, virtualization, data and integration platforms, SaaS, and IaaS.
- General knowledge of global application functionality, including SAP.
- Experience with data center design and building high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
- Broad understanding of IT disciplines, standards, and best practices.
- Experience driving technical discussions with clients, IT staff and managers, and C-level executives.
- Strong analytical, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Preferred degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, petrochemical, or oil and gas industries.
- Preferred experience with SAP environments, a proven record of innovation, and TOGAF certification.
