Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, performance, reliability, and technical roadmap of the F5 Connector.
- Design and build scalable, highly available software for the Connector data plane and control plane.
- Develop prototypes and production software hands-on using Rust and C++.
- Define and implement APIs and manage deployment, operations, maintenance, and debugging across the software lifecycle.
- Implement high-throughput packet and request processing, traffic inspection, telemetry collection, policy synchronization, configuration management, and service registration.
- Work with OpenTelemetry Arrow Protocol, bi-directional gRPC streaming, flow control, multiplexed streams, back-pressure, and long-lived distributed connections.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and geographically distributed teams.
- Mentor senior and junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish team coding practices and guidelines.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience in a fast-paced environment.
- At least 3 recent years as an Architect or Principal Engineer.
- Experience architecting and designing large-scale enterprise platforms using microservice-based architectures.
- Hands-on expertise in Rust and C++.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry Arrow Protocol, including schema negotiation and telemetry stream lifecycle management.
- Understanding of bi-directional gRPC streaming, flow control, multiplexed streams, back-pressure handling, and long-lived connection management.
- Ability to work across requirements, design, development, deployment, and maintenance phases of a software product.
- Experience with Apache Arrow columnar memory format is an added plus.
- Ability to collaborate with geographically distributed teams and mentor engineers.
