Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, release, operate, measure, and continuously improve backend services and product capabilities.
- Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions for scalable, secure, and cost-efficient backend systems.
- Build backend agents, edge communication services, on-device services, and cloud-to-edge integrations.
- Create deployment pipelines and containerized deployments for distributed robotic and IoT environments.
- Integrate telemetry and monitoring systems and support reliable operation of distributed systems.
- Collaborate with business development, operations, hardware, and field teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Raise software engineering standards and provide software development guidance across specialized teams.
- Occasionally travel for on-site support.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on C#/.NET experience.
- 3+ years developing applications for real users, including release and operation phases.
- Experience using Git in team development with five or more engineers.
- Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
- Knowledge of gRPC, MQTT, WebSocket, or similar communication protocols.
- Experience integrating telemetry and monitoring systems for distributed environments.
- Ability to collaborate with hardware and field operations teams in fast-paced environments.
- Preferred: production-level C++ ability and experience building software for Linux edge or IoT devices, preferably ARM64.
- Preferred: robotics, computer vision, automation, retail automation, supply chain technology, or large-scale IoT production experience.
- Preferred: Azure IoT Hub, Azure Container Registry, ROS/ROS2, web-based visualization and debugging tools, real-time performance optimization, and device communication security and authentication.
- Preferred: experience deploying machine learning models on edge devices using TensorRT or ONNX.
