Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize frontend and backend code, with approximately 60% of the role focused on hands-on full-stack development.
- Build responsive user interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ReactJS, and Webpack.
- Develop scalable Java and Spring Boot backend services using Kubernetes and microservices architecture.
- Drive architectural decisions, system design, documentation, and non-functional engineering standards.
- Conduct code reviews, debug applications, improve performance, and maintain application health and quality.
- Lead technical initiatives, manage projects and timelines, and coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing and engineering excellence.
- Help implement models and algorithms operating on large-scale data and contribute to the engineering community.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in the design and development of highly scalable applications and platforms.
- Experience with Java backend services and extensive experience with Spring Boot.
- Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ReactJS, and Webpack.
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, system design, and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerization.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and caching solutions.
- Experience working on platform teams or building shared tools and frameworks for developers.
- Experience with cloud-native technologies such as GCP or Azure and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience leading projects and mentoring junior team members.
- Experience with e-commerce or marketplace platforms.
- Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in internal platform evangelism.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant computing or software engineering field and 4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant experience; a relevant master's degree with 2 years of experience is preferred.
