Responsibilities
- Design and develop new features across Pico’s product range.
- Build and maintain high-performance, high-availability, multi-threaded systems for real-time and historical market and network data.
- Develop expert-level C++ software under Linux.
- Use Python, shell scripting, and makefiles in the development workflow.
- Perform automated unit and integration testing.
- Debug Linux-based applications using tools such as gdb and valgrind.
- Solve issues encountered in the field using limited data.
- Apply algorithms, design patterns, and efficient maintainable coding practices.
Requirements
- Minimum 2:1 in a third-level Computer Science or Engineering degree, or equivalent.
- Minimum four years of development experience.
- Expert proficiency in C++ development under Linux.
- Experience with Python, shell scripting, and makefiles.
- Understanding of algorithms and design patterns.
- Experience with multi-threaded application development.
- Experience with automated unit and integration testing.
- Experience with Linux-based development environments, including gdb and valgrind.
- Knowledge of IP networking.
- Ability to reason through technical trade-offs, follow or create appropriate patterns, collaborate effectively, and accept constructive feedback.
