Responsibilities

Define and implement long-term architectural direction emphasizing reusable components and interoperability across applications.
Translate business requirements into scalable, reliable, performant, and available technology solutions.
Design, develop, unit test, performance test, and implement backend software supporting mobile apps, SDKs, micro-frontends, WhatsApp, and ecosystem partners.
Build reusable platform capabilities, open APIs, RESTful services, integration layers, event-driven microservices, and enterprise pub-sub solutions.
Establish and enforce platform development, architecture, coding, testing, and delivery standards.
Own specifications, detailed technical plans, coding, testing, rollout, and production launch activities.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, R&D, analysts, product managers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Use data-driven insights to guide development and communicate strategic plans, steering committee decisions, and status updates to senior management.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
Overall experience between 7 and 18 years, with the broader role description also citing 12–15 years of experience.
Proven hands-on experience engineering enterprise-grade solutions and translating technology and architectural strategy into engineering outcomes.
Deep expertise in Java, Node.js, Python, scalable event-driven distributed microservices, enterprise NoSQL databases such as Couchbase, stream processing such as Flink and Google Cloud Dataflow, REST API frameworks such as Swagger, pub-sub frameworks such as Google Pub/Sub and Kafka, and secure full-duplex communication using WSS.
Experience with GitHub, GitHub Copilot, GitHub Actions, build pipelines, Java development tools, IDEs, Jira, Confluence, Kubernetes, Docker, Google Cloud Platform, Jenkins, Postman, and WebSocket client tools.
Strong collaboration, communication, problem analysis, organizational, vendor management, negotiation, prioritization, and independent working skills.
Ability and willingness to remain hands-on, manage concurrent initiatives, innovate, and engage senior management on strategic plans.
Fluent written and spoken English; suitable certifications for key skills are welcomed.

Work from the office only in Mumbai and/or Mangalore.
