Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain AI-powered data and document pipelines on Microsoft Fabric for CPD service lines.
- Apply LLMs to document extraction, classification, summarization, retrieval-augmented generation, and structured output generation.
- Develop Intelligent Document Processing capabilities for long-form, table-heavy, multi-format consulting documents.
- Build Power BI dashboards and semantic models for executive-ready internal and client insight.
- Prototype agentic AI patterns such as tool-use agents, planner–executor workflows, and multi-agent orchestration.
- Embed responsible AI controls including source citation, verifiable reasoning, output guardrails, and governance alignment.
- Drive adoption through training sessions, workshops, lunch-and-learns, and written enablement materials.
- Advise project managers, technical leads, and Partners on practical AI and automation opportunities.
- Run discovery and requirements-gathering workshops and define, prioritize, and iterate CPD AI/automation initiatives.
- Contribute to ERM’s AI Champions network and technical communities by sharing reusable patterns and learnings.
- Support fee-earning Technical Due Diligence and broader CPD engagements, including client-facing workstreams, proposal scoping, pricing inputs, and delivery.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in a sustainability-related, environmental, engineering, scientific, or quantitative discipline with demonstrable analytical and data-driven capability.
- 1–2+ years of consulting, technical, data, or related experience.
- Strong hands-on Python and SQL skills and experience building data and AI pipelines end to end.
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Delta Lake, notebooks, Dataflows Gen2, and pipelines.
- Strong Power BI skills, including semantic modeling, DAX, and executive dashboard and report design.
- Experience applying LLMs and/or ML to workflow problems such as document extraction, classification, summarization, RAG, or structured output generation.
- Familiarity with Copilot extensibility, Power Automate, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Graph.
- Awareness of agentic AI concepts and willingness to develop hands-on agent-building skills.
- Product mindset with experience or training in requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, MVP scoping, and iterative delivery.
- Awareness of responsible AI and governance frameworks such as the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, and NIST AI RMF.
- Excellent written and spoken English and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical and senior client audiences.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Desirable experience includes capital projects, infrastructure, energy, environmental consulting, TDD, ESDD, owner’s engineering, or lender’s advisory work.
- Desirable experience includes delivering AI/automation training and enablement, Intelligent Document Processing, OCR, LLM evaluation and observability, or Azure AI Foundry’s evaluation suite.
- A European language, technical-community participation, or an AI/product apprenticeship or structured programme is desirable.
