Responsibilities
- Define technical solutions to business problems and contribute to a scalable architectural vision.
- Build and ship backend services using Kotlin microservices, Postgres, and some Ruby on Rails.
- Deploy and iterate frequently using CircleCI and Spinnaker.
- Own the development and maintenance of team-managed services.
- Monitor services, diagnose root causes, and deploy fixes.
- Mentor more junior engineers and collaborate with product managers, designers, and business teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working at a similar level in a mature engineering team.
- A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience through an alternative route.
- Technical expertise in at least one programming language, including Kotlin or Ruby as relevant technologies.
- Ideally, experience with relational databases.
- A demonstrable track record of impact in previous roles.
- A proactive, driven, meticulous approach with strong attention to detail.
