Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, install, and support application systems and programs.
- Analyze code and applications, identify system enhancements and vulnerabilities, and perform testing and debugging.
- Consult with users, clients, and technology groups and recommend programming solutions.
- Resolve application issues by analyzing information and selecting and implementing solutions.
- Serve as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts and act as a subject-matter expert.
- Work proactively and independently to address project requirements, identify challenges, and mitigate delivery risks.
- Assess and escalate control, compliance, and operational risks appropriately.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry.
- At least 7 years of strong mainframe experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and DB2.
- Strong design and development skills across the stated mainframe technology stack.
- Intermediate-level experience in an applications development role.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Clear written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Financial services domain experience and the ability to work independently and in culturally diverse virtual teams.
