Responsibilities

  • Lead quality engineering strategy and governance for enterprise data platforms and data pipelines.
  • Define automated testing frameworks for batch, streaming, event-driven, ingestion, transformation, conformance, curated, and reporting workflows.
  • Develop automated validation solutions for BigQuery, GCS, Dataproc, Spark, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub, and related GCP services.
  • Implement data quality testing for completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness, and reconciliation.
  • Lead test planning, execution, defect triage, release certification, performance testing, scalability testing, and resiliency testing.
  • Establish CI/CD-integrated automated testing, quality gates, metrics, coverage tracking, and release-readiness KPIs.
  • Partner with engineering, architecture, product, data, and business teams to make data requirements testable and measurable.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, governance, and data lineage requirements.
  • Mentor QA engineers, SDETs, and data testers while promoting an automation-first culture.
  • Collaborate with production support teams to identify root causes and implement preventative data quality controls.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Data Testing, or Test Automation.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading QA teams or test strategy initiatives.
  • At least 5 years of experience testing ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes, and big data platforms.
  • At least 5 years of experience validating large-scale datasets using BigQuery, Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar platforms.
  • At least 5 years of test automation experience using Python and/or Java.
  • At least 2 years of experience validating Apache Spark and distributed data processing.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and building data validation and regression frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data quality methodologies, SQL-based validation, reconciliation testing, Agile, DevOps, and shift-left practices.
  • Experience testing cloud-native GCP data platforms, streaming pipelines, event-based architectures, or large-scale processing workloads.
  • Knowledge of Apache Iceberg, lakehouse architectures, BigQuery external tables, metadata management, data lineage, and data governance.
  • Experience with containerized workloads, Kubernetes, audit and regulatory validation, and performance or volume testing.
  • Experience in regulatory reporting, financial crimes, AML, Fraud, KYC, or compliance domains is desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership experience managing offshore or onshore QA teams is desirable.
