Responsibilities
- Break larger projects into tasks, deliver work in multiple phases, and collaborate with teammates to ensure timely delivery.
- Design, develop, and launch backend systems and APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
- Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues, and support operational availability, keep-the-lights-on work, and on-call efforts.
- Navigate large codebases, debug code, write well-tested and extensible software, and provide feedback through code reviews.
- Participate in team growth and development activities, including the interview process.
Requirements
- At least 1.5 years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
- Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
