Base Salary
$195k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and continuously improve distributed big-data pipelines for network analysis, machine learning, data ingestion, and data fusion
- Scale Altana’s technology to meet evolving customer requirements
- Design and execute complex customer integrations and customized data pipelines
- Integrate proprietary customer data into Altana’s knowledge graph while preserving privacy
- Serve as the technical expert in client-facing meetings and connect government requirements with platform architecture
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers
- Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and practices for data pipeline development, orchestration, and deployment
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of data solutions
- Provide technical direction and mentor other engineers
Requirements
- 8+ years of technical experience in data engineering or closely related engineering roles
- Extensive experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex data models across varied sources and schemas
- Track record leading the full lifecycle of large-scale data ingestion and standardization pipelines
- Experience with sustainable software development, self-healing data workflows, data security, and data governance
- Experience leading and mentoring engineers on complex data engineering projects
- U.S. work authorization is required
- Fluent written, technical, and spoken Spanish is required
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to customer sites in Mexico and LATAM
- Must be based in Washington, DC or the New York City area
- Preferred experience with ML pipeline deployment, ML model development, front-end development, cloud engineering, or enterprise architecture
- Preferred exposure to trade compliance, supply chain management, international commerce, or the public sector
- Preferred experience managing software systems, releases, costs, and infrastructure changes
- Familiarity with AI tools is preferred
