Responsibilities
- Integrate the DataLayer into Bloomberg runtimes and ensure seamless operation with the Bloomberg Terminal and backend services.
- Design, develop, and manage large-scale service-oriented and distributed systems.
- Write performance-critical code and optimize system performance.
- Work with highly multithreaded and asynchronous programming environments.
- Make safe and responsible changes to live production systems without impacting users.
- Collaborate with DataLayer and infrastructure teams and communicate effectively with technical partners.
Requirements
- 5+ years of total software developer experience in C++.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, multithreading, and algorithms.
- Experience designing, developing, and managing large-scale service-oriented systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A self-starter approach with a strong sense of ownership.
- Preferred: experience with complex infrastructure systems under continuous use and performance optimization.
- Preferred: experience writing performance-critical code and working with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Preferred: exposure to multiple phases of the software development lifecycle.
