Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable Node.js backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Own PostgreSQL data modeling, schema design, indexing, and query performance.
- Build and maintain stateful enrollment, matching, and multi-step application workflows.
- Own services end to end from design and implementation through deployment and monitoring.
- Build fallback mechanisms and safeguards for AI-dependent workflows.
- Contribute to backend architecture and engineering standards, participate in code reviews, and improve code quality, security, and reliability.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of backend engineering experience with strong Node.js expertise.
- Production PostgreSQL experience including schema design, indexing, and query tuning.
- Experience building and shipping RESTful APIs at scale.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs into production systems.
- Strong system design fundamentals, including service boundaries, data contracts, and failure modes.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, high-ownership environments.
