Responsibilities
- Set web application architecture across the frontend, Platform API consumption, design systems, API contracts, navigation, feature flags, and modularization.
- Drive Angular-to-React and BFF-to-Platform API migrations across teams using working prototypes and modernization strategies.
- Partner with Platform engineers on API and gateway design, contribute server-side code where needed, and design third-party and EMR/EHR integrations.
- Establish cloud deployment patterns for web applications, including containers, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and reference pipelines.
- Partner with mobile engineering on shared API contracts, design-system parity, and cross-surface architecture.
- Set standards for code quality, accessibility, performance, API design, testing, design controls, verification evidence, and traceability.
- Mentor P3 engineers, help set the hiring bar, and multiply team output through architecture and tooling.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field plus 8 years of experience, or a master’s degree plus 6 years of experience.
- Recognized depth in web application architecture with hands-on fluency in React, Angular, REST, GraphQL, Platform API and gateway consumption, and at least one server-side language.
- Working knowledge of mobile client architecture and a record of setting technical standards adopted across multiple teams.
- Experience leading large-scale frontend or API modernization, such as Angular-to-React or BFF-to-Platform API migrations.
- Experience designing and operating cloud-deployed applications at scale with containers, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
- Ability to embed quality and traceability into a secure software development lifecycle, including automated testing.
- Preferred experience includes regulated medical-device software and standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 13485, IEC 62366-1, and FDA design controls.
- Preferred experience includes experimentation, feature flags, modular build infrastructure, UI frameworks and design systems, EMR/EHR integration using HL7, FHIR, or IHE, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
