Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain secure platform components and features for Windows Server.
- Design and implement automated validation, testing, and fuzzing solutions to improve software quality, reliability, security, and compatibility.
- Build telemetry, logging, diagnostics, and observability capabilities for product health, reliability, performance, and security insights.
- Participate in threat modeling, security reviews, vulnerability mitigation, security invariant validation, and targeted test development.
- Investigate product issues using debugging tools, logs, telemetry, and monitoring systems, and contribute to corrective actions.
- Support security incident response by assessing impact, diagnosing issues, delivering fixes, and improving platform resilience.
- Apply secure-by-design, secure-by-default, secure coding, cryptographic, key management, auditability, and platform hardening practices.
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions and collaborate with partner teams to deliver secure, scalable, reliable solutions.
- Use AI-assisted engineering practices for code generation, testing, debugging, analysis, and documentation while maintaining accountability for quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software is preferred.
- Experience with one or more of C, C++, C#, Python, Rust, PowerShell, or Kusto is preferred.
- Experience designing automated tests, validation frameworks, telemetry, diagnostics, or developer productivity tools is preferred.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in operating systems, virtualization technologies, systems programming, platform engineering, and software security is preferred.
- Familiarity with Secure Boot, Trusted Platform Module, virtualization-based security, code integrity, Credential Guard, WDAC/App Control, BitLocker, and Secured-core is preferred.
- Understanding of security concepts, secure coding, threat modeling, and attack techniques such as credential theft, privilege escalation, persistence, and lateral movement is preferred.
- Familiarity with cryptography fundamentals, security telemetry, observability, monitoring, and incident investigation is preferred.
- Problem-solving, debugging, collaboration, communication, learning, and secure systems-building skills are preferred.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $102,100-$202,200 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range of USD $133,800-$219,200 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
