Responsibilities
- Develop secure, well-tested, performant frontend features and improvements using Vue.js and GraphQL.
- Translate complex requirements and legacy constraints into reliable, intuitive, responsive, and accessible solutions.
- Collaborate with product management, product design, user experience, testing, security, technical writing, Gitaly, Code Review, and Source Code teams.
- Use and critically review AI-generated code for appropriately scoped work.
- Write maintainable code, participate in code review, and advocate for engineering standards.
- Monitor production health, participate in Tier 2 on-call, troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and improve observability and resiliency.
- Share knowledge through code reviews, technical documentation, mentoring, and collaboration.
Requirements
- Professional experience with Vue.js or another modern JavaScript web framework such as React, Angular, or Ember, plus GraphQL experience.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, accessibility standards, and frontend performance practices.
- Experience simplifying complex policy, permissions, or rules-based problems in web applications.
- Experience writing frontend unit and acceptance tests using tools such as Jest, Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, ava, or tape.
- Experience using AI coding agents in a large, complex monorepo, including scoping work, reviewing generated code, and understanding their limitations.
- Professional Git experience and familiarity with collaborative code review processes.
- Clear written and spoken English communication skills for remote, asynchronous collaboration.
- Ability to manage priorities independently, work through ambiguity, take ownership, and seek guidance on difficult-to-reverse decisions.
