Senior Software Engineer Java - Backend, Officer
State StreetResponsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, and implement complex software enhancements, applications, platforms, and frameworks.
- Deliver enterprise application architecture and platform-based solutions into production.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create sustainable solutions for complex business and technical problems.
- Provide technical leadership and critical analysis during product architecture, design reviews, and code reviews.
- Develop automated tests, conduct manual tests, and improve development and test methodologies.
- Create design, API, and customer documentation.
- Provide expert troubleshooting for large, mission-critical client implementations.
- Participate in the Agile development process, including standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Plan and coordinate cross-team activities and assist team leaders in completing assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical field is required; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 9 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience is required.
- Strong experience with enterprise application architecture, platform-based solution design, object-oriented programming, and complex multi-tier database applications.
- Experience with Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, Spring Boot, microservice architectures, cloud-native services, Kubernetes, Kafka, and message-based systems.
- Experience with financial-services software in areas such as Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR, or Wealth Management is strongly desired.
- Experience with relational databases, scripting, operating systems, compiler or interpreter technologies, embedded systems, and advanced programming languages.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, high-performance database applications, and designing simple solutions to complex business and technical problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with peers.
- Experience with Azure, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL is preferred or considered an asset.
