Responsibilities
- Shape and scale GitLab CI backend infrastructure to improve performance, reliability, and usability.
- Design and implement AI-powered features for Agentic CI, including agents and LLM-backed tooling.
- Define success metrics for AI in CI, including baselines and measurable outcomes.
- Build instrumentation and observability for AI-assisted CI in production.
- Drive measurable performance improvements across CI systems through data-driven experimentation.
- Write secure, maintainable Ruby on Rails code and improve existing features.
- Lead cross-functional technical work with Product, UX, and Infrastructure teams.
- Share standards and learnings to enhance responsible AI integration across CI.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Strong PostgreSQL skills, including data modeling and query tuning.
- Experience building and debugging high-traffic production systems.
- Practical experience designing and shipping AI-powered backend features.
- A data-driven approach to engineering with clear success criteria.
- Familiarity with observability patterns and tools.
- Strong backend architecture and delivery practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
