Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, test, deploy, and support Java applications for ETF creation and redemption, fund accounting, NAV calculations, portfolio management, trading operations, analytics, and regulatory reporting.
- Build and support REST APIs, Spring Boot and Spring MVC services, microservices, messaging flows, database integrations, market-data connections, and third-party financial-system interfaces.
- Translate ETF and investment-management requirements into technical designs, development tasks, implementation recommendations, and testable outcomes.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, Agile ceremonies, testing, deployment, performance optimization, and post-production support.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, resolve defects, and implement sustainable fixes.
- Apply secure development, authentication, authorization, input validation, data protection, auditability, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain API specifications, data mappings, design records, test evidence, support procedures, release information, and other technical documentation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, analysts, architects, testers, operations teams, and other technical contributors.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional hands-on Java development experience, including enterprise application development and production support.
- Strong experience with Java 8, 11, or 17, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, REST APIs, JSON, microservices, SQL, relational databases, messaging technologies, Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
- Strong knowledge of ETFs, including creation and redemption mechanisms, ETF lifecycle processes, and related operational workflows.
- Experience with portfolio management, fund accounting, NAV calculations, asset management, trading operations, investment management systems, financial market data, or regulatory reporting.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or equivalent relational databases and with Kafka, JMS, RabbitMQ, or comparable messaging platforms.
- Understanding of cloud application development and deployment; AWS, Azure, or GCP experience is preferred.
- Experience with secure software development, API security, authentication, authorization, sensitive-data protection, vulnerability management, audit logging, and least-privilege principles.
- Experience with requirements analysis, technical design, coding, testing, code reviews, deployment, production support, and Agile delivery practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
- Relevant training or certifications in Java, cloud technologies, Agile delivery, capital markets, investment management, or related areas are preferred.
