Base Salary
$194k - $267k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, evaluation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of the production photogrammetry pipeline.
- Develop and optimize 3D reconstruction systems involving feature detection, structure from motion, multi-view stereo, and mesh reconstruction.
- Evaluate emerging techniques such as Gaussian splatting and foundation 3D models including MASt3R and VGGT.
- Optimize 3D systems for speed, accuracy, and robustness across high-volume customer workloads.
- Select effective classical computer vision and learned approaches for business challenges.
- Own technical investigations from initial triage through production rollout.
- Establish technical direction, architectural guidance, code review standards, and observability practices including metrics, logs, dashboards, and alerts.
- Mentor engineers and potentially take on direct management of one to two engineers.
- Integrate AI coding workflows and tools such as Cursor and Claude Code into the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of professional experience building, shipping, and operating 3D computer vision or 3D machine learning systems in production.
- Technical depth in 3D perception domains including structure from motion, multi-view stereo, SLAM, mesh texturing, and depth estimation.
- Proficiency in C++ for performance-critical execution and fluency with PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment technologies including AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with agentic development and modern AI coding tools.
- Experience setting technical direction and mentoring engineers, with interest in expanding into people management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant backgrounds may include senior or lead computer vision engineering, spatial computing, AR/VR infrastructure, geospatial software, aerial imagery pipelines, robotics, or SLAM software engineering.
Benefits
- Base pay range is $193,844.00–$266,535.50 USD annually.
- May be eligible for equity compensation and/or bonus incentive compensation.
- Based in the Bay Area, California or Austin, Texas.
