Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for Agent Studio.
- Build capabilities for creating, configuring, testing, deploying, monitoring, and managing AI agents across their lifecycle.
- Develop services for agent configuration, orchestration, workflow execution, tools, prompts, knowledge sources, integrations, and runtime behavior.
- Create APIs and service interfaces supporting frontend experiences and reliable backend interactions.
- Manage agent configurations, versions, state, context, tools, permissions, and runtime components.
- Enable secure agent interactions with Intermedia products, enterprise applications, APIs, data sources, and external services.
- Partner with AI/ML engineers to integrate large language models and other AI capabilities.
- Build mechanisms for testing, evaluating, troubleshooting, and refining agent behavior.
- Design handling for errors, retries, timeouts, authentication, authorization, permissions, scalability, reliability, observability, and fault tolerance.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, UX, AI Platform, DevOps, and infrastructure teams from concept through production.
- Write maintainable, testable code; participate in design and code reviews; and troubleshoot complex backend and AI-enabled issues.
- Build monitoring, logging, testing, and observability into production services and contribute to engineering process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience developing backend applications and services.
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages and associated frameworks.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, or other service-oriented applications.
- Understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and scalable production applications.
- Experience integrating applications with internal and external APIs, services, and data sources.
- Experience designing backend services for complex, interactive product experiences.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, source control, monitoring, logging, observability, and production support practices.
- Strong problem-solving, independent investigation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with evolving technologies, product requirements, and technical approaches.
- Working understanding of Agile development methodologies and frameworks.
