Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the engineering team.
- Design and implement real-time fraud decisioning services and APIs in Python or Kotlin.
- Build and evolve the platform for launching fraud decisioning in new countries.
- Integrate region-specific fraud and risk vendors.
- Support peers and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Create and monitor metrics to support system operations and availability.
- Foster a culture of quality and ownership within the team.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
- Experience with distributed systems and infrastructure using AWS, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.
- Strong system design skills with a track record of delivering maintainable services.
- Fluency with AI-driven engineering and modern AI tooling.
- Proficiency in SQL and working with data-rich environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and safe production deployments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in distributed teams.
- Proactive, ownership-driven mindset focused on learning and team success.
- Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, or Chronosphere is a plus.
- Background in fraud prevention, risk systems, or real-time decisioning is a plus.
- Experience building for multiple markets or regions is a plus.
- Experience in the fintech sector or regulated environments is a plus.
