Responsibilities
- Support the operation and monitoring of critical production services.
- Participate in incident response, on-call practices, deployment validation, and operational readiness activities under mentorship.
- Help implement monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and other observability improvements.
- Participate in post-incident reviews and reliability improvement initiatives involving SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Develop scripts and automation to eliminate repetitive operational work and reduce toil.
- Contribute to AI-powered operational tools, assisted runbooks, and troubleshooting workflows.
- Partner with development teams to promote reliability and observability best practices.
Requirements
- 0–2 years of experience through employment, internship, or co-op programs.
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Basic programming or scripting experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn complex systems.
- Preferred exposure to Azure cloud services, Kubernetes, or containerized applications.
- Preferred familiarity with Datadog, AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK.
- Interest in AI, automation, and distributed systems.
