Responsibilities
- Architect secure, scalable AEM solutions spanning Sites, Assets, Content Fragments, Experience Fragments, headless CMS, GraphQL/OpenAPI integrations, and Edge Delivery Services.
- Lead modernization roadmaps for AEM 6.5, AMS, and AEM as a Cloud Service, including migration, content modeling, Universal Editor, and API-first delivery.
- Lead cross-functional technical teams, guide frontend, backend, and delivery architecture decisions, and provide mentorship across disciplines.
- Participate hands-on in complex integrations and issue resolution, and lead proofs of concept, reusable frameworks, accelerators, block libraries, starter kits, and reference architectures.
- Serve as the primary client technical contact, provide strategic CMS guidance, and recommend pragmatic adoption of emerging AEM and digital experience capabilities.
- Design backend and enterprise integrations using REST, GraphQL, SOAP, Adobe I/O, middleware, cloud-native services, message brokers, and composable APIs.
- Optimize performance and scale through Dispatcher, CDN, Edge Delivery Services, data-flow architecture, and low-latency delivery patterns.
- Enforce architecture, coding, security, privacy, accessibility, content, release, and Cloud Manager quality standards.
- Use AI-assisted and agentic development practices for code quality, migration analysis, content modeling, troubleshooting, and delivery workflows with human review.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering or solution architecture, including significant hands-on Adobe Experience Manager experience.
- Deep knowledge of AEM Sites, Assets, Content Fragments, Experience Fragments, headless CMS, GraphQL, Universal Editor, Edge Delivery Services, and AEM as a Cloud Service operating models.
- Strong expertise in Java, Sling, OSGi, HTL, JCR, Dispatcher configuration, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Frontend experience with React, Angular, Vue, or similar frameworks, plus knowledge of web performance, accessibility, Core Web Vitals, and framework-agnostic authoring.
- Proficiency with REST/SOAP integrations, middleware tools, message brokers, databases, cloud platforms, Adobe Cloud Manager, observability, DevOps practices, and deployment governance.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud environments and Agile delivery models.
- Experience with AEM migration and modernization programs, including AEM 6.5 to AEM as a Cloud Service, component refactoring, content model redesign, performance remediation, and platform rationalization.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Preferred experience includes Adobe Workfront, Adobe Express, DAM workflows, Adobe Experience Cloud, Adobe I/O, App Builder, OpenAPI, personalization, experimentation, analytics integration, AI-assisted workflows, and agentic AEM concepts.
- Working knowledge of Contentful, Sitecore, Drupal, or other CMS platforms is preferred.
- Strong communication, storytelling, problem-solving, proactive client engagement, strategic thinking, collaboration, and cross-team influence skills are required.
