Responsibilities
- Build new personalized and relevant Widgets experiences across Windows surfaces.
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, and delivery across Windows shell, application, web, platform, and cloud-connected components.
- Partner with product, design, data science, and engineering teams to prototype solutions and evaluate technical tradeoffs.
- Establish experimentation and measurement strategies and use customer feedback and product data to improve Widgets.
- Improve reliability, performance, accessibility, security, privacy, and observability through measurable engineering standards and durable solutions.
- Mentor engineers and improve team practices for design, development, testing, incident response, and operational ownership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in modern C++ and native Windows development.
- Knowledge of software architecture, algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and debugging.
- Experience leading complex projects across multiple teams.
- Experience diagnosing production issues using telemetry, traces, dumps, and diagnostics.
- Experience with Win32, WinRT, COM, Windows App SDK, or MSIX.
- Experience building Windows shell or system UI experiences and cloud-connected Windows applications.
- Experience building AI-powered experiences, personalization, recommendations, or intelligent content discovery.
- Effective communication, cross-team collaboration, initiative, and willingness to address challenging technical problems.
