Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Drive architecture vision and strategy across K12 product platforms.
- Participate in the Architecture Council by presenting designs, reviewing proposals, and shaping shared standards.
- Own technical direction for a platform and recommend architectural approaches across platforms.
- Partner with business, product, UX, and engineering stakeholders to define requirements and sequence initiatives.
- Provide architectural guidance during development and ensure alignment with strategy.
- Prioritize and address technical debt while supporting estimation, planning, and business-case evaluation.
- Document architecture decisions, patterns, strategies, and platform integrations.
- Encourage innovation through prototypes and exploration of new technologies.
- Lead through influence without initial formal supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including influence over multi-system architecture.
- 3+ years of experience building solutions on AWS.
- Hands-on experience with multiple coding languages, UI frameworks, and database technologies.
- Familiarity with modern web technologies and open-source frameworks.
- Experience with large-scale, high-availability systems and application, integration, SOA, and distributed architecture patterns.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, technical documentation, and consensus-building skills.
- Background check clearance and ability to travel up to 5%.
- Experience building SaaS products is preferred.
- Experience addressing cross-browser challenges is preferred.
