Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure-by-default platform controls to enhance API and service security.
- Build and evolve security systems and enforcement layers for distributed systems.
- Define and standardize security patterns for broad adoption across services.
- Integrate security controls into developer workflows and infrastructure.
- Identify recurring security risks and create reusable platform primitives.
- Partner with engineering teams to embed security early in the development lifecycle.
- Contribute to threat modeling and security reviews for systemic improvements.
- Leverage application telemetry to assess and improve security posture.
Requirements
- Strong background in software engineering with experience in distributed systems (Go or Python preferred).
- Experience designing and implementing security controls or systems.
- Experience building shared infrastructure or enforcement mechanisms for engineering teams.
- Understanding of modern systems handling identity, communication, and trust boundaries.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and across new problem spaces.
- Ability to make pragmatic security decisions balancing risk, usability, and scalability.
- Driven to identify security issues and design solutions that prevent them at scale.
